JVL Agro is a responsible corporate citizen.
The Company (stewarded by a Corporate Social Responsibility Committee comprising Mr. Mahesh Kedia, Mr. S.N. Jhunjhunwala and Mr. Adarsh Jhunjhunwala) invested in community activities in line with notified activities.
The Committee monitors the implementation of the framework of the CSR Policy, recommending the quantum of CSR spending.
The Company manages and funds two schools addressing the impoverished – Prahlad Rai Jhunjhunwala Saraswati Shishu Mandir (400-plus students) close to the Naupur unit and Hari Vidhya Mandir Higher Secondary School (300-plus students) at Sahupuri. JVL also provides scholarships to deserving students and buses for transporting students from remote areas.
The Company intends to adopt a village hospital near one of its plants with the objective to provide rural medical facilities and eliminate the need for urban travel. The Company provides safe drinking water to the local residents near its Haldia plant, sponsors rural health camps, provides financial help and free medical camps for the ill and challenged (mental and physical) and distributes mobility equipment to the physically challenged.
The Company undertook a plantation drive on Republic Day and Independence Day proximate to all its manufacturing units. It adopted a park with an Ashoka Stambh in Varanasi.
The Company provides drinking water in rural areas, is engaged in land development, plantation and self-help groups, is implementing policies in the interest of employees and stakeholders by producing quality products, instant credit mechanisms and efficient working capital cycles.
